Saratoga Racers Past Boston Sharks on a Special Night in Mechanicville!!

Donovan Williams and Isaiah Grandison had big games as Saratoga Racers defeated Boston Sharks, 170-128, on Saturday, on an emotional night with a special Pre-game ceremony to honor long time high-school coach, Joe Loudis with the renaming of the court at Riverside Center to Joe Loudis Court. The special on-court ceremony was attended by Joe Loudis wife, children, grandchildren, and multiple former players. Williams scored 41 points to lead Saratoga Racers and Grandison scored 32 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. The Racers improve to 7-3 on the season. Saratoga Racers had a strong first half, leading 79-65 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory. Leading 93-78, Saratoga Racers went on a 14-point run to pull further away. Williams scored 16 points in the third quarter as Saratoga Racers outscored Boston Sharks 49-27. Saratoga Racers scored at will in the paint. They went 53-86 on twos. Williams, Grandison, Keishaun Wheelings, and John Ryals III each hit multiple three-pointers for Saratoga Racers. The team shot 18-45 (40%) from beyond the arc. Williams led the team with eight assists and Grandison led the team with six steals. Ryals III (30 points), Wheelings (28 points), Luke Perez (12 points), Anthony Mitchell (10 points) all also had double figure scoring nights. Jahleel Bell scored 44 points to lead the Boston Sharks and former Racer, Christian Corker, scored 37 points. Saratoga Racers will have revenge on their minds next weekend with games against two teams who beat them earlier this season on the road. They will play at home on Saturday against Binghamton Bulldogs at 7pm who are currently ranked 19th in the ABA weekly power rankings and at home on Sunday at 3pm against the undefeated New England Lightning who are currently ranked 5th in the ABA weekly power rankings.
