Strong Performace Lead Saratoga Racers Past New England Lightning in Statement Weekend!!

Juwan Malone scored 22 points and Isaiah Grandison had a big game as Saratoga Racers defeated the previously unbeaten New England Lightning, 139-117, on Sunday. Grandison scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Saratoga improved to 9-3 on the season. Saratoga Racers trailed 48-30 at one point in the game before mounting their comeback. Trailing 50-36, Saratoga Racers went on a 20-point run to take the lead. Saratoga Racers captured the win despite trailing 57-56 at halftime. Saratoga Racers had 10 assists in the third quarter, as they outscored New England Lightning 48-26. Malone was the leading scorer for Saratoga Racers with 22 points. Saratoga Racers was deadly from inside the paint, finishing 43-78 on twos. Saratoga Racers controlled the paint, grabbing 52 rebounds. Grandison led the team with 10 rebounds. Saratoga Racers passed the ball well with 30 assists on 54 made baskets. Donovan Williams led the team with seven assists. Saratoga Racers pressured the ball all game, collecting 22 steals. Rj Rosa led the team with four steals. Dyondre Dominguez scored 35 points to lead New England Lightning. Armani Baker made 14 of 19 free throws as New England Lightning attempted 41 for the game, Baker finished with 26 points. Saratoga Racers welcomes Vermont Coyotes on Saturday (2/7/2026) for their next game at Joe Loudis Court/Riverside Center (7pm), the Racers are 2-0 so far this season against the Coyotes. On Sunday, 2/8/2026, the Racers will host a special Noontime game against the Herkimer Originals, and will try and finish the season sweep against the Originals.

Williams scored 15 points and gave out 10 assists while Malone scored 30 points. Saratoga Racers was deadly from inside the paint, finishing 47-76 on twos. Saratoga Racers controlled the paint, grabbing 45 rebounds. Isaiah Grandison led the team with 10 rebounds. Saratoga Racers passed the ball well with 40 assists on 61 made baskets. Williams led the team with 10 assists. Saratoga Racers's ball pressure forced 25 steals in the game. Rj Rosa led the team with eight steals. Rosa (28 points), Tobias Holmes (16 points), Williams (15 points), Tyler Mitchell (13 points), John Ryals III (12 points), Camp (10 points), Grandison (9 points), Cam Thomas (7 points), Anthony Mitchell (7 points), and Luke Perez (4 points) also pitched in for Saratoga Racers.
